About
Handmade Jewellery Using Mixed Metals & Gemstones while incorporating elements of my artwork into many of my pieces.
Artwork Specialising In Mandalas & Fine Pen Work by Marcia Waldstadt, Devon Based Artist & Jewellery Maker.
My studio is set up in our wonderfully quirky little home in the beautiful mid Devon countryside, in a small village on the outskirts of Exeter. I am forever inspired by all the beauty that surrounds us where we are so lucky to live. From the rolling hills and countryside, the endless amounts of creatives and talented minds that reside here, the ocean, rivers, forests, nature, waters and the moors.
My passion for creative expression has been with me all my life. Being raised by a incredibly artistic and creative family with many skill sets running throughout generations from cabinet makers, artists, tailoresses, jewellers, musicians, photographers and more. It was impossible to not grow up with a huge love and appreciation for the arts and creativity being a essential outlet throughout my life.
While I try to put my hands to many things and always love to experience new ventures, artwork has been a constant for many years specialising particularly in fine line pen work and mandala techniques including hand engraved mandala designs. For over a decade my work has been sold on a variety of products including greeting cards, clothing, bags, fabrics, downloadable/printable svg designs as well as hand engraving my designs on upcycled items and my husbands instruments for PanAmor.
More recently I began training in jewellery making and have found this to be where I also come back to with the most passion, inspiration and drive.
I particularly love to work with mixed metals such as recycled silver and gold, brass and copper while also incorporating elements of my artwork into the majority of my pieces. Combining multiple elements of metals in one piece can complement each other so beautifully. I also absolutely love working with beautiful gems and precious stones and combining these in my work is such a joy. With each stone I love to intuitively create a design that works perfectly with the piece as every stone is so beautifully unique while creating a way to perfectly capture their colour and light.
I never take for granted how incredibly special it is to work with some of the earths most precious stones and metals and love to compliment each piece with a thought out and intuitive design as well as being mindful that all materials used are ethically and mindfully sourced.
I also really enjoy working with customers on bespoke and custom pieces, bringing their ideas to life is a wonderful process to experience. Please do get in touch via my contact page if you would like me to work on a bespoke piece of jewellery for you.
Fashion, style, artistic expression in many forms and music have always been some of my biggest loves and here I share with you my own little contribution to these wonderful worlds, except music… I wouldn’t want anyone to fall victim to having to hear me make music!
Handmade jewellery using mindfully and ethically sourced materials where ever possible and my artwork in a variety of mediums on various products and more.
